Allysum (white)
Flower Essence
Labularia maritima
Definition:
To help awaken (emotionally) to the
illusion of romantic love.
Prince Charming turns out to be a myth,
and the carriage has become a pumpkin.
For people who are waiting for Prince
(or Princess) Charming to ride into their lives,
sweep them away, and live happily ever after.
A flower essence, made 29 September 1998, from flowers
growing wild by the beach at Princess Bay, on the south
Wellington coast.
This is probably the one flower that I had most trouble finding.
I drove all around the coastal road south of Wellington looking for
this one, and it took several hours to find it.
It's like I was looking for a phantom, just like many of us spend
most of our lives chasing after the myth of romantic love of the
“happily ever after” variety. Chasing after rainbows.
Anyway, I found it eventually, and went back the next day to
make the essence. It was a beautiful spring day, and sitting in my
car by the beach while the essence was being made in the sun was
very pleasant.
At the time I made this essence, I was going through the recovery
phase from a relationship break-up. My former girlfriend had said
that she would join me at the beach, but she never appeared; and
every time a car pulled into the car-park, I would look to see if it
was her. During the long afternoon of waiting in vain for her to
appear, I was really quite agitated about her not arriving, more so
than I should have been. When I obtained the definition of what
the essence is for, I was greatly amused, when I realised that I had
been acting out the energy of the essence, still looking to buy into
the illusion!
Notice also, that these flowers were growing at Princess Bay!
Another non-coincidence, of the type I have often noticed when
making essences.
This essence, along with
Pink Naked Lady, is a component essence
in the “Romantic Illusion” Super-Essence.
