Beet - Bright Lights
Flower Essence
Beta vulgaris, var. cicla
Definition:
“Mistaken identity”.
For people who have been: mis-diagnosed by the
medical profession, or wrongly accused of a crime,
and still carry resentment.
Also for people in a relationship who realise that
the person is not who they thought they were.
A flower essence, made 7 January 1999, from
“Bright Lights” Beet plants in my
vegetable garden in the Buchanan Street, Wadestown
house.
This is another one of those flower essences where the
circum- stances of the plant has a large bearing on
what the essence is for. When I planted the seeds
for these plants, I mis-read the information on the seed
packet, and thought that I was planting seeds for beetroot.
It was only when the plants had grown quite large that I
realised that they were not beetroot at all, but a variety
of leafy beet similar to silver-beet, but with multi-colored
stems.
It turned out to be a happy “non-accident”
because not only did this variety of leafy beet turn out
to be a really delicious eating, but, when they eventually
flowered, I made this essence!
For other examples of essences where the circumstances surrounding
the plant or the making of the essence has a
large bearing on what the
essence is for, see
Lotus,
Darwins Barberry Berries, and
Mahoe.
