Definition:
“Grandma’s blackberry preserves.”
For people who did not have the unconditional
love and acceptance of the traditional grandmother
in their life.
The utopian grandmother (seldom found today) is
warm and cosy, loving and nurturing, and accepts
you without conditions.
We have the need for this grandmother energy in
our consciousness, but for most of us nowadays
this need is left unfulfilled.
This grandmother energy was present in our ancestral
past, but is seldom found in modern times.

Most older New Zealanders have sweet memories of

It always puzzled me as a child when I was told that the wild
blackberry was a “noxious weed” and liable to
be sprayed with poison. Why would anyone want to do such
a crazy thing?
And, it still troubles me that our society resorts to such practices
as the mass spraying of poisons into our environment.
To me, the wild blackberry has always been the king of fruits.
I will eat it every way possible: straight from the vine, in pies,
crumble, jam, whatever.
So I was delighted when I first heard the yummy definition for this essence.
