Fescue Grass
Flower Essence
Festuca spp.
Definition:
To help find one’s uniqueness from
within the crowd.
Feeling lost and unable to find one's identity,
everyone else seems more dominant.
Wanting to stand alone, but not apart.
Useful for people who have had a dominant
influence in their life (family, religious groups, etc.).
A flower essence, made 15 December 1998, from the flower-
heads from the long grass in my back lawn at the Buchanan
Street, Wadestown, house.
The grass of my lawn had been getting longer and longer all spring
and summer, and I had had no energy nor motivation at all to
mow it.
On this day, I had found another flower, the
Spiraea japonica,
growing beside the lawn, to make into an essence, and when I
tested to see if there was anything else I received a strong positive.
I looked around, but could see nothing that caught my attention in
the way of a flower. I walked around looking, pendulum in hand,
and I kept getting a positive answer every time I went near the
lawn. Finally, the penny dropped, it was the grass itself that was
calling to me to be made into an essence!
A week or so later, my landlord appeared at the front door, saying
that the neighbours had complained about the un-mown state of the
lawn. (After all this was Wadestown!) He volunteered to pay some-
one to come in and mow it for me, and I reluctantly agreed. So, a
few days later, my beautiful grass was beheaded, massacred by a
noisy, horrible weed-eater. But, the important thing was, I had my
essence. (And no, I did not bother telling the landlord that I had
needed to keep the grass un-mown in order to make a flower essence!)
As for the essence itself, there's not much to say..... the definition
says it all. How appropriate! No-one ever notices the grass. I certainly
did not, until it called out to me, but my neighbours did!
