Hine Aotea
Gem Essence
Definition:
Heals the Goddess within and the Goddess without.
As it heals the Goddess aspect within the individual,
it resonates out to heal the planet.
This essence has a very sacred feeling.
Made with the sacred healing stone of the
Waitaha people of New Zealand.
In June 2000, I happened to go into a crystal shop where I know
the shop owner quite well, and my eyes were immediately drawn
to a pendant he was wearing. I asked “What's that?”
By way of reply he showed me a note that he had received in the
mail that very same morning, along with the pendant. I do not
have the exact words from the note, but it went something like.....
“Hello. You may not remember me, but I am the Mãori man who
was in your shop over a year ago, and I mentioned to you that I
would send you a piece of the sacred healing stone of the Waitaha
People, and here it is.
It's name is Hine Aotea.”
As I read these words, I felt a profound feeling of resonance with
the stone, and I asked my friend if he knew any more about this
type of stone. He went out the back to his store-room, and
brought
out a paper
bag with a few small pieces of the same stone,
saying
“I bought these from a wholesaler, but have not put them on display
in the shop. In European terms, this stone is a form of green kyanite,
found here in New Zealand. Would you like to
choose yourself a piece?”
I thanked him, and chose the piece that you see in the photographs.
My piece of Hine Aotea is quite small, the photographs are larger than
the size of the stone. A few days later, I made this gem essence with
the stone.
In September 2000, I happened to show this stone and the gem essence
to my friend Petra, and she became very excited, because she too had
recently had a profound encounter with Hine Aotea. Petra is a very
gifted sound healer, and she spent a whole evening holding my little piece
of Hine Aotea, singing and toning to it, and “seeing” and speaking with
energies and beings “inside” the stone.
At the end of the evening, Petra handed me back the stone, indicating
that she had finished whatever it was she had been doing with it, and....
Not only did the stone have a different “feel” to it (it felt “lighter”, with
a finer vibration), but the colour had changed..... it is now a deeper shade
of green. To bring these finer energies that are now part of the stone into
the gem essence, I placed the stone against the bottles of the essence and
invited the energies to be infused into the essence.
The Waitaha People are reputed to have been an ancient people who have
been in New Zealand for a long time. They are reputed to have been a
totally peaceful race, choosing to not engage in warfare or bloodshed even
if attacked. The subject of the Waitaha people of New Zealand is very
controversial, and I feel that it is not appropriate to engage in this controversy
here. This essence is offered in good faith, to all who may resonate with its
spirit.
