Lantana
Flower Essence
Definition:
To eliminate toxic sexual attitudes that have
arisen since the sexually repressed influence
of the Victorian era.
Obsessive/compulsive energy.
The extremes of the continuum range from
repressed sexuality to sexual perversion.
A flower essence, made 18 March, 2000, from a lantana
bush in the garden of my friend Sylvia at Paraparaumu.
Over the summer of 1999-2000 I lived in this house, and
the lantana bush was right outside the front door.
Our modern global culture has a huge legacy of dysfunctional
attitudes towards sex and sexuality. This ranges all the way
from sexual repression, which was the norm back in the 1950's
when I was a child, through to the modern extremes of pornography,
the one-night-stand “singles bars” culture, to the
exploitation of sex by the advertising industry.
Until all of this is healed, there is no way that we can be healthy,
fully functional humans.
Other essences for healing sexuality issues include
Marjoram,
for
sexual stereotyping,
Poke Weed,
for male impotence and
Ostrich Foot,
for the healing of the gender battles.
An interesting footnote to the Lantana essence is that an Australian
movie of the same name, “Lantana” was released in 2001. The
Lantana plant grows wild in the Australian bush, and the movie's
opening scene is of a Lantana plant in the bush with a woman's body
laying in it. The movie is about life and love, etc..... a theme that
resonates very well with this essence. To see a review of the movie,
