Lychnis (white)
Flower Essence
Lychnis coronaria (“Alba”)
Definition:
To give the ability to stand in innocence.
“In my defencelessness, my safety lies.”
(A Course in Miracles).
“The meek shall inherit the earth.”
For when one is awakening and healing one's fear.
A flower essence, made 13 December 1998.
This is one of a series of essences made in the
spring and summer of 1998 at the property of my friend
Bernadine, in Paraparaumu, up the coast north of Wellington.
Bernadine has a lovely large garden, that she manages
according to the Steiner Biodynamic system, and over this
time of 1998 and 1999 I made many essences there.
This essence resonates really deeply with me.
As soon as I heard the definition, I just said
“Yes! Of course!”
I guess it helps that I have been a student of
“A Course in Miracles”, and was already
familiar with this idea of how true safety can only
be found by being totally “defenceless”.
To most people, this will seem like total nonsense. Surely, the old
saying “The best form of defence is attack!”
makes a lot of sense.
However, is this really true? Like, even the Roman Empire
eventually fell. And, why should we be any different?
I would suggest that this issue is a good example of how many things
in the universe are actually the exact opposite of what they “appear”
to be. And, with this particular issue, Jesus himself set us the ultimate
example of how complete and utter defencelessness triumphs over all
adversity.
