Shell Essence
Struthiolaria papulosa
Definition:
To help heal the hurts carried by men and women
since the beginning of time (gender based).
Men hurting women, and women hurting men.
The pain of words that pierce the body like small arrows,
(small enough to irritate, but not big enough to maim),
leaving the fabric of humanity scarred and afraid.
This essence has a gentle energy.....“the counselor
rather than the psychotherapist”.
This is one of three shell essences made on 17 June,
1999, on the first occasion that I made shell essences
(see below for details).
Whenever I read the definition of this essence,
I feel a shiver go up my spine. It really does
have a very powerful energy.
The energy of all of the “gender wars” that
have afflicted humanity for many thousands of years.
All of us, men and women, carry the scars of these gender wars:
the wounds left by the angry words, judgmental thoughts,
and unkind deeds. For myself, it was these gender-wars
wounds that proved to be the deepest and the hardest of all
my wounds to heal.
Until we totally heal these wounds, there is no way that we can be
whole, balanced, spiritually mature men and women; totally comfortable
in our sexuality, and balanced between our own inner male and female parts.
It is certainly not before time that we had a powerful essence specifically
to help in the healing of these gender-wars wounds, and here it is. Use it.

The date was 17 June 1999, when I made my first shell essences, three of them.....
I was spending the winter of '99 in a cottage by the beach at Raumati South,
and I had presumed that I would be making hardly any essences over the winter.
However, an article in an old issue of “Rainbow Network”
drew my attention to
“shell essences” (essences made by the same method
as gem essences, but from
sea shells).
As soon as I next went over to the beach, there they were, waiting for me.....
three of them. Ostrich Foot, Tuatua, and
Cockle.
Right at the foot of the steps
onto the beach, just as if someone had laid them out especially for me
(as I am sure they had!)
