Petrified Wood
Stone Essence
Definition:
The wisdom of our ancestors, of our past,
of our roots, and of our new beginnings.
Helps us to access this wisdom, gaining
an ever-deepening understanding of who
and what we truly are.
Made 1st May, 2000, with a flat piece of petrified wood that was
given to me by my friend Eileen, on a visit to Waiheke Island.
This is one of those pieces of petrified wood like you buy in
crystal shops, that has been cut into a thin, flat cross-section
to display the attractive markings. It was far too big to fit totally
into the water when I made this essence, but this does not
matter (see photo below).
When Lisa and I arrived at Eileen and Peter's house that evening,
Eileen brought out this piece of petrified wood and said to me
“This is telling me it needs to belong to you. You will know what
to do with it.” As soon as I arrived back home in Hawkes Bay,
a few days later, I made it into this essence.
To me, this essence has a sacred feeling about it, representing the
accumulated wisdom of our ancestral line, going way back,
and also
representing our own inner wisdom, that we all have, the accumulated
wisdom of many lifetimes, which is there, inside us all, just waiting
for us to allow to come up into our consciousness.
