and Pohue is the Mãori name.

This essence heals any physical, emotional,
mental or spiritual damage that an individual
has incurred as a result of the modern schooling
system.
A flower essence, made 20 February 2000, from the flowers of
Pohue vines growing in waste ground at Paraparaumu, north of Wellington.
Note that this plant is a native of New Zealand, and Pohue is its
Mãori name. Its common English name is Pink Bindweed.
Most of us have bought into the myth that our schooling system
is largely beneficial to the children that are forced to submit to the system.
When it was first pointed out to me that, in fact, our schooling
system does a huge amount of damage, and very little good,
to everyone who goes through the system, I refused to believe it,
and I became very angry.
Without going into masses of detail, the basic facts are.....
Our modern schooling system was designed by the kings of Prussia
to provide cannon-fodder for their armies.
Prior to the industrial revolution, there was no schooling system for
the masses. The system was made compulsory to provide well-disciplined
workers for the factories.
Our present system is there for the convenience of the parents, teachers
and employers, not for the good of the children.
Before the age of at least seven (may be as high as ten), the child's brain
and mind are not suited to the forced absorption of intellectual facts.
(Rudolf Steiner was the first in the modern era to realize this.)
Everyone's learning style and learning pace are different, yet our “system”
attempts to force everyone into the same basic mould.
Exams, grading, and fixed curricula do a huge amount of harm, and are
retained in the system solely for the convenience of the system.
A real “education” has nothing to do with schooling. The true meaning of
the word “education” is to draw out what is already inside. The schooling
system attempts to stuff things in from the outside.
The schooling system is really about power and control, not about education.
It takes most people many years to recover from the damage done to them
at school, and most never fully recover. I trust that this essence may help
a few such to recover.
