Duet Rose
Flower Essence
Definition:
For sex and sexuality issues within
relationships between men and women.
The “eternal dance of duality” within
sexual relationships.
Includes fears of not being good enough,
of not being able to satisfy the partner,
sexually and in other ways, for both men
and women.
Often associated with the co-dependent
type relationship where they feel a need
to give and receive things like presents,
etc, and where love and sexual availability
is traded in order to provide a sense of
security (which is illusory, and needs to
be constantly repeated.)
A flower essence, made 23 June 2002, from flowers
on a Duet Rose bush in the Wellington Botanical Gardens.
This rose is a Hybrid Tea type, bred by Swim.
The name of this rose, “Duet”, gives a clue as to what
the flower essence is for, implying the endless duet of the
dance of duality, the endless striving to please the partner,
in order to somehow secure their “love”, to buy their
loyalty and support.
And, of course, it cannot last. Even if the relationship does endure,
it exists as a hollow shell, a parody of what a truly healthy relationship
would be like.
For issues of codependency, refer to the
Parahebe flower essence, and to the
Broom flower essence.
