“Saratoga” Rose
Flower Essence
Definition:
The “Dark Night of the Soul”.
A “new energy” essence, to help facilitate the
moving out of “the void”.
This is one of the essences to help humanity to
move on from the “old energy” paradigm based
on duality and karma, into the “new energy”
paradigm of partnership and love.
Specifically, this essence provides help to those
of us who are in
“the void”, that place of “no thing”
that is the place of transition between the old and
the new.
A flower essence, made 7 April 2002, from the “Saratoga”
roses in the garden at Broadgreen historic house, Stoke, Nelson.
This is a florabunda, cluster-flowered, type rose, bred by Eugene Boerner in 1963,
and named after a town in the Hudson Valley that was made famous by a battle
in the American War of Independence, where the breeder of the rose
spent his holidays; and it is easy to see the connection between a
town made famous by a bloody battle and the state of the “dark night of
the soul”.
This essence is one of the new essences discovered by Vanda and
myself during March and April 2002, during our journey around
New Zealand's South Island. All of these new essences have a
power and clarity to their energy that surpasses anything I have
seen before, and many of them are roses.
When I first made this essence, in response to a need from a client
of mine, I had in mind what I would call the old-style “classic” dark
night of the soul, of the type so well described by Caroline Myss in
her tapes “Spiritual Madness”.

form of this “dark night” experience..... the experience of entering
