Flower Essence
Definition:
To heal “constant craving”
To help resolve the feelings of deep desire, where one
just has to have
the desired object (or person).
To help in seeing through the illusion of “wanting” and
“needing”, and to
come to the realisation that the intense
feelings of attraction to the desired object (or person)
are nothing to do with reality.
A flower essence, made 27 February, 2002, from pink scabious
flowers growing in the garden of my parents' house in
Christchurch, where I was living at the time.
The need to make this essence was brought to my attention by
two things.....
A song on a tape that I was playing a lot around February 2002,
in my car, as I drove around the streets of Christchurch.
The song is “Constant Craving” sung by k.d. lang, on her
album “Ingenue”.
The words from the song that really “grabbed me” were.....
“Constant craving..... has always been.
“Craving...... Ah.... Ha.
“Constant craving..... has always been.
“Constant craving..... has always been.”
This song was a big hit for k.d. lang, back in 1992, and in the
biographical notes, on her
official web site
she says this about it.....
“Hey, it has my only really big hit!,” she says with a laugh, referring
to the worldwide smash “Constant Craving”. “But, seriously, it also
is one of those recordings where it felt like everything just fell into
place. Sometimes, music is unexplainable. You can try to control it,
but it ultimately follows its own pace and evolution. This song, and
this album, took on a special life of its own.”
I can certainly agree with that, the way that song grabbed my attention,
ten years later, and demanded to be made into an essence!
The other factor that triggered off my realisation of the need for
this “constant craving” essence was the reading of this
article,
titled “The Promise of Perfection”,
on desire and wanting, by
Andrew Cohen, published in his on-line
magazine “What is
Enlightenment”.
The key passage in this article that really grabbed my attention was.....
“..... it means that when we perceive that object or that person, we are
experiencing more than what is actually there. We're seeing the car,
we're seeing the other individual, but because both of them are objects
of our desire or our longing, we're also seeing more than what's actually
there, more than just a car and more than just an attractive person, and
that more that we're seeing has very little to do with the object we're
perceiving, very little to do with the car, very little to do with the attractive
individual. It has only to do with what we are imagining. It is what we are
imagining what we are adding to the picture that makes our nerves dance
and our hearts beat a little bit faster. It's very important to understand this,
very important. Because of course what we're seeing does not actually
exist. It has no independent self-existence, no objective reality outside the
sphere of our own mind and senses.”
With both the hearing of the song, and on reading the words quoted above,
I really felt the energy of the craving, of the intense desire.
Also, I experienced some craving myself, mainly for certain foods.
So, there you have it, the “constant craving” essence.....
The essence of intense, uncontrollable desire.
