Spinach - Perpetual
Flower Essence
Beta vulgaris cicla
Definition:
To strengthen one’s connection to
Universal Love and God.
For people who are wanting to feel God,
but have closed the door and are afraid
they have lost the way.
A flower essence, made 16 February 1999, from Perpetual Spinach
plants in my vegetable garden of the Buchanan Street, Wadestown,
house. This is one of that large group of flower essences that
I made from the vegetables and herbs in my “summer of 98-99”
vegetable garden.
When I rented the Buchanan Street house,
my number one priority was that I had to have a vegetable garden.
My first question when I inquired about every possible house was
“Does it have a garden, or room for a garden?”
For twenty years I had been a passionate (some would say fanatical)
vegetable gardener, but I had not had a proper vegetable garden for six years,
in all the time that I had lived in Wellington.
We (my friend Maree and I) moved into the house at Labour Weekend 1997,
(Labour Weekend in New Zealand is towards the end of October), and by Christmas
we were eating lettuce from the garden.
Over the following twelve months, as each vegetable and herb
completed its life cycle and came into flower, many of them were
made into essences. My method of choosing which vegetable
varieties to plant was an intuitive process. I would often go through
a seed catalogue, pendulum in hand, selecting which seeds to order.
It's obvious now that I was being guided as to which varieties to
plant in order to have the ones that would eventually become essences.
The “Perpetual Spinach” is a lovely vegetable, well worthy of a place
in everyone's vegetable garden. It is a light green, with a thinner leaf
than most spinach and silver-beet varieties. It goes well in a salad,
and the leaves grow very large. The plants do not bolt to seed in the
hot weather, and a few plants will supply a large quantity of leaves.
The plants survived the winter of 1998, and came away again in the
spring with fresh growth sprouting from the stems. They did, however,
go to seed in their second season (fortunately, otherwise we would not
have the essence!)
As for the essence itself, I have found it to be very useful. It comes up a
lot, for all kinds of people. It seems to have a very broad energy spectrum,
for most situations of someone feeling cut off from their connection with
God. I am sure that will you find it to be very useful, and it is a component,
along with
Cream Rose and
Periwinkle, of the “Spiritual Desert” Super-
Essence.
However, for people who are more extreme in their alienation from God
and the Divine, ie. they are what is usually referred to as “atheist”, the
Pumpkin essence would be the most appropriate.
