Veilchenblau Rose
Flower Essence

Definition:

To reveal that which is hidden behind the mask.

Bringing the true colours (both light and shadow sides)
out into the light.

“I open up to Wholeness and welcome Truth.”

Veilchenblau flower essence - Bringing out both the light and the dark. A flower essence, made 13 December 1998.  The Veilchenblau rose was bred in Germany in 1909 by Schmidt, and was claimed to be the first blue colored rose, which is not really true, as the flowers are a shade of lilac-mauve, and I find this to be very interesting, considering that the flower essence is for helping a person to “bring out their true colors”.

This is one of a series of essences made in the spring and summer of 1998 at the property of my friend Bernadine, in Paraparaumu, up the coast north of Wellington.   Bernadine has a lovely large garden, that she manages according to the Steiner Biodynamic system, and over this time of 1998 and 1999 I made many essences there.

The definition of this essence says it all. See also the Dark Pink Rose for another essence (also made in Bernadine's garden) that
has a similar “coming out from hiding” energy. The Dark Pink Rose,
however, has a more “fearful” type energy to it than the Veilchenblau
which is more akin to shyness rather than fear.

The rose books say that this rose is best grown in the shade,
because the hot sun bleaches the color, which is interesting, in
view of what the flower essence is for.

There is also the Violet Clematis essence, which is for wanting to
be noticed and “discovered”, but needing to discover and appreciate
one's own talents before other people will do likewise.

Also note that the essence that is specific for bringing out one’s
“shadow side” is Milkweed.

To see some lovely photos of Veilchenblau Rose, look at this page
on the Rosa Rosam web site of photographer Jocelen Janon.

The Veilchenblau rose is a polyantha or multiflora climber (or rambler)
type, bred by Schmidt, in Germany, in 1909, and the flowers are violet
rosettes with streaks of white.
