Zucchini
Flower Essence
Cucurbito pepo
Definition:
Post-war “Baby-Boomer” consciousness.
The generation who enjoyed the “Good Life”.
This essence is to assist them with change.
We no longer have full employment, subsidies on
basic foodstuffs, nor the security of a secure existence,
with full employment, a “job for life” for those that
want it, and a secure retirement to look forward to.
A flower essence, made 1 February 1997, from the vegetable
garden of my friend Jane.
I do not know the exact variety of zucchini, although it is one of
the very common dark-green varieties. The exact variety does not
matter. The energy of this essence will be the same as long as the
zucchini is one of the common dark-green varieties, and the
essence is made with the intent of it being a duplicate of the New
Millennium Zucchini Essence.
On 27 January 2000, I made the Zucchini Essence again, and it
was again from the garden of my friend Jane. But this time from
her garden on the lovely country property in the hills to the east of the Kapiti Coast that she
now shares with her partner and their three cats and two
horses. Maybe I should sub-title this essence “Jane's Essence”.
On my next visit to this property, on 11th March, I made the
Coriander essence from Jane's garden and it is interesting to note
that Coriander is also about loss type issues.
Of all the essences that I have made, I feel a huge affinity with this
one. The generation of post-war “baby-boomers” is my generation.
I experienced the “good life” in the 1950's and 60's: the full employ-
ment, the secure existence in “God-Zone”.
And I have lived through
all of the changes since then. So, of course, has Jane, as she too is a
baby-boomer.
Note to non-New Zealanders: Us New Zealanders sometimes refer
to our country as “God-Zone”, especially in the context of the way things
were back in the “old days”, before the globalisation of the world culture
arrived here..... back when the bars all closed at 6pm and all day Sunday,
most shops were closed all weekend, and imported goods were scarce and
expensive. Times certainly have changed a lot since those balmy times,
and this Zuchinni flower essence is all about coping with these changes.
Thank-you to my friend Rosemary for some of the beautiful photographs
of zucchini.
