Looking out from the deck, into our “Cottage Garden”, towards the north-east.
In the foreground you can see our potatoes and pumpkins, in the middle there is an area with marigolds, allysum
and daikon radish, also two small apple trees with wind-breaks around them, and towards the road you can just make out
the white flowers of our German Chamomile. There are also herbs (thyme, oregano, salad burnett, peppermint, sage, borage and clary sage) near the far corner.
In the distance, you can see the Waianakarua Hall, where Glenys teaches yoga on Wednesday evenings. Our neighbour over the road
raises bull-beef cattle on a large farm. We consider ourselves very fortunate to live in such a lovely location, out in the country.
