Looking north-east, towards the gate and road, over our Cottage Garden

Looking north-west from the far corner of the garden. In the foreground there are our leeks and onions, the little white flowers are our German Chamomile, further towards the right there is a ring of white borage, and in the far corner some vegetables. The area in the middle has been left for beneficial “weeds” to grow: mainly dandelion, of which we have thousands, and also a few yarrow and wild-growing poppies.

These photos were taken on a lovely sunny morning in late summer (March 2008), with all the plants feeling very happy, radiating health and vitality in the bright sunshine. Our long-term plan is to gradually develop this garden into an English-style “cottage garden” and herb garden, with lots of wild-flowers, though for now it is being used mainly for vegetables and herbs.
