Right over on the east edge of the property, there is a little grove of pine trees (pinus radiata). These trees provide shelter from the east wind, and also some shielding from the traffic noise from State highway One, which is about 300 metres away.

This view is looking east from the orchard, over a small paddock, and if you look carefully, you will see that Glenys is opening the gate to enter into the area under the trees.
