On New Year's Eve, at the change of the old year of 2002 into the new year of 2003, Peter was working in the kitchen at the Convergence gathering, when a meeting took place that was to change his life. A woman suddenly appeared among all the people working in the kitchen that afternoon, a woman who seemed to know him, and who was vaguely familiar to him, but he could not quite figure out whether he knew her, or who she was.
Before meeting Peter, Glenys had not had much to do with flower essences. She had been
a yoga teacher for many years, and had done a large amount of personal development and
esoteric study, including astrology and Reiki. However, on Peter and Glenys' very
first outing together to find and identify new flowers for essence making, they found that
Glenys had a natural aptitude for this work. They were in the rose garden at the Christchurch
Botanical Gardens, on 19th January 2003, and Peter asked Glenys to find the three roses that
needed to be found that day. Without hesitation, she led him straight to all three.
This period of time from early 2003, through to the southern hemisphere spring, in October,
was a period of consolidation and of laying the groundwork for the new partnership.
Much work was done on upgrades to the website, and a lot of very deep personal healing work
was done by Glenys and Peter working together.
Among the new discoveries made were the essences to assist in the
Opening of the Seven Seals
Among the upgrades to the New Millennium website done over this time, was the replacement
of some of the flower photographs with new ones taken with the new SLR digital camera that
was obtained from June 2003. Often, Peter and Glenys would be out on a field expedition, and
one or more of their “old favourites” would pop up, to be photographed with the
new camera, and the much-improved images placed on the website. Among these over
this time were the
Red Flowering Gum, the
ToeToe, the
Prickly Sow Thistle, and many of the gem and sea essences were also re-photographed,
including the
Ostrich Foot, the
Quartz and Granite, and the
Everyday Challenges.
From October 2003, Peter and Glenys launched the New Millennium
Everyday Helpers, a range of powerful flower essence mixture products,
designed for retail shop over-the-counter sale. They spent a lot of time and energy
on getting the formulation just right, and on the packaging and marketing, and they
went on several sales trips, from October to February, all over New Zealand,
promoting the Everyday Helpers to retail shops. As a result of these efforts, these
flower essence products are now sold in a large number of health stores throughout
New Zealand, and can also be bought direct from this website.
During these travels all around New Zealand, they also did many field trips finding
new flowers, and also photographing many of their old favourites with the new SLR digital
camera.
Some of the old favourites re-photographed included
Piripiri, in Dunedin,
Giant Geranium, in Wellington, and
Plantain, on a roadside in Wairarapa.
December 2003 was spent by Glenys and Peter in Australia, in Melbourne, with a
week in Sydney (Glenys is Australian, and Melbourne is her home town).
While in Australia, the work continued, with many new flowers being discovered,
among them being the
Red Bottlebrush, the
Hibertia, and the
Everlasting Daisy.
Immediately upon their return from Australia, Glenys and Peter went back to where
they had first met, one year earlier, to
Convergence, for six days of fun, relaxation,
and lots of quality time with like-hearted people, from 28 December to 3 January.
While there, on New Years Day, Peter spent several hours exploring the area by the river-bed
for wild flowers, and found several important new flowers, among them
Vipers Bugloss,
and Wattle (for tissue regeneration).
Another new development that happened with the new partnership between Peter and Glenys
was the purchase of a color laser printer. As well as enabling the printing of the bottle labels
with a color picture of the flower, the new color laser printer also enabled the production of
new
essence manuals and laminated cards. These manuals are stunningly beautiful,
with large full-color photos of the flowers.
In early 2004, Glenys and Peter made a trip all around the lower part of New Zealand's
South Island, where they called on health shops, promoting the Everyday Helper products.
They found a number of new flowers on this trip, including flowers for use in an advanced healing
project, the
New Generation Alchemy Essences, which have recently been released as a new essence set
for advanced healing work.
One of the results of this work with essential oils was the development of several new flower
essences for use in combination blends of essential oils and flower essences. These new essences
act as catalysts to harmonise the energies of the two modalities, and to increase the effectiveness
of the healing actions of the component essential oils and flower essences.
For details of these new essences, have a look at our
aromatherapy blends page.
At the heart of this new technology, which is actually the birth of a new modality,
there are a small number of specialist flower essences,
that hold together the combined healing energies of the oils, herbals, and essences.

aromatherapy products index page
Another major project undertaken in 2004, and continued in 2005, was the new
Animals Essences. Right since the very earliest days of the Bach Flowers, people have been
using flower essences on animals with great results, and this has included our own
New Millennium Essences. However, during 2004, there was an upsurge in demand for
essences for helping animals, and Peter decided to develop a new range of essences
specifically for animals.
These new animal essences are specifically for helping animals with
their own “animal” issues, many of which are not shared with humans.
The development of these animal
essences also led to a new range of essence blends for animals, the
Animal Helpers, which are a range of over-the-counter blends for specific animal-health
issues.
Somehow, as well as finding time for the above projects, in 2004 Peter also developed a little
mini-set of essences for giving people relief from emotional and physical symptoms. This
came about, as usual, from a personal need, and these four essences have turned out to be so
effective, that they are now the most used of all the New Millennium essences in Peter's
work as an essence practitioner. Details of these four essences can be seen on the
Emotional and Physical Relief mini-set page.
Since qualifying as an aromatherapist, Peter has also been researching the essential oil market,
and because he was dissatisfied with the quality of most of the essential oils on sale both here in
New Zealand, and also globally, he has put together a range of organic and wildcrafted essential oils
of the very highest quality, which we now have available for sale.

However, amongst all this hectic business activity, there was still time for the finding of some new essences.
While on the road, the “Core Issues” essences took shape. This was very much to fill a
personal need for Peter, in his own personal healing work, and his work with a few of his more “advanced”
clients. He never had any intention of making these essences into a formal “set”, they were just a collection
of advanced essences that he was using in his personal work. But somehow they evolved into the
Core Issues Essences Set.
Peter and Glenys had no sooner returned home to Christchurch in July 2006, exhausted, burnt out, but happy with what they had
achieved, than they felt a very powerful urge to relocate away from the city and move out into the country.
They did some tidying up of their house in suburban Christchurch, getting it ready for sale in the spring, and they
also began their search for their new dream home, out in the country. From September, they began the search in
earnest, and on 12 October, they found it, their new home, in North Otago, on six acres of land.

So, here we are in March 2008. We have come a long way since those early beginnings way back in 1992. It has been an exciting journey, that continues to unfold, as it is by no means finished yet. We will keep you posted. Watch this space.
