Training and Job Opportunity with us.....

Our position of intern is currently full, for the first half of 2008. There may be an opportunity during the latter half of 2008, and if you are really keen to be considered for an internship in the latter half of 2008, you are welcome to contact us and have your name added to our list of interested people.



We invite expressions of interest from people who have a keen interest in natural health and holistic living, to join us for a period of a few months as an “intern”.

As in intern, you will live with us in our comfortable, spacious home on our six-acre organic permaculture property. We live in a rural area, surrounded by farm land, and our New Millennium Essences business is run from an office in the house.

We will give you free accommodation (with your own bedroom), and we will feed you healthy organic vegetarian food, and we will train you in all aspects of flower essences, aromatherapy, and everything to do with the running of our business, in exchange for you helping us in the running of the business. You would also be expected to take part in meal preparation, occasional house cleaning, and some outdoors work, eg. gardening, depending on what is happening in the business.



You will take part in everything that we do in the running of our New Millennium Essences, including the day-to-day making up of flower essence orders for customers, packing orders and taking them to the Post Office, emailing customers, record keeping, manufacturing of the essence products, and the occasional field trip to find new flowers and make new essences. You might get to attend some workshops that we might facilitate while you are here, you might help us in exhibiting at the odd trade show, and you might occasionally be left in charge of the business while we go out for the day, or even away for a few days.



This is an opportunity to train in flower essences with Peter and Glenys, to work alongside them every day, and to “learn the ropes” in a world-leading and innovative natural health business. You could also learn heaps about organic growing and permaculture, essential oil use and production, and many other related things.



We are looking for a person who is very interested in the natural health industry, very highly motivated, keen to learn, who sets extremely high standards for themselves, is wishing to live a healthy, natural, holistic lifestyle, and is willing to extend themselves. It goes without saying that you will have extremely high standards of personal integrity, and that you take full responsibility for yourself. This is an opportunity for a truly life-changing experience. It would be useful if you have some previous experience in natural health modalities, or as a practitioner of some sort, though this is not essential.



We would expect our intern to be already living a healthy, holistic lifestyle, with a keen interest in natural health and related things, and to be actively pursuing a path of personal improvement and personal and spiritual development. While with us, you will be given all possible assistance with your ongoing, personal and spiritual development, and with any health-related issues you may have, including intensive flower essence and aromatherapy treatments. You will have the opportunity to do yoga with us every morning (Glenys is a yoga teacher), and to also learn about many other holistic and spiritual things, like the Mayan calendar. We also have an extensive library of very interesting natural health and spiritual books.



Please note that this is not paid employment, it is an exchange between equals, your help in exchange for us feeding you and giving you accommodation, plus training you in flower essences, aromatherapy, and related topics. This is not formal training as such, it is more in the nature of an informal apprenticeship. Hours of work will vary, depending on how busy we are, but there will be ample time off to travel around our beautiful country, plus we will take you out on field trips, and to the nearest towns and cities, from time to time. The length of time you will be with us is negotiable, however, in order to maximize your learning opportunity, and to make a worthwhile contribution, we would expect you to be here for several months.



Please note that, depending on what is happening here at the time, you may be required to work outside in our gardens and orchard at times. This requirement will vary from day to day and from season to season, and also is dependent on the amount of work needing to be done in the flower essence business. Please be aware of this requirement, and only apply for this position if you are willing and able to do outside garden type work as part of the overall experience of being here with us.



One final point..... you will need to have an excellent command of the English language, because you will be answering the telephone and emailing customers. A reasonable level of computer skills would also be useful (Windows PC), though not so essential, as we will train you in our computer systems.
